REV DR COLIN MARSHALL (Chairman)
My wonderful wife, Lorraine, and I have been married for 26 years and have four delightful daughters; Julie, Tracey, Catherine & Lisa. Lorraine & I both grew up in St Heliers and were married there by a Presbyterian minister in an Anglican church. For both of us and our family the life of faith has been central. Education has also been very important. Julie is an Secondary English teacher and has taught at Hebron for 2 years. Tracey is currently training as a primary teacher at Laidlaw Teachers Training College and Catherine & Lisa are currently at Hebron.Professionally I began my working life as a primary school teacher at Kohimarama Primary after finishing the Epsom Training College and a degree at Auckland University in Anthropology & Politics. I would later leave teaching for a commercial career as a computer consultant eventually being appointed the NZ National Information Systems Manager with Coca-Cola Amatil. During this time I became involved with the Presbyterian Youth Ministry leading youth groups and running youth and youth leadership camps. After taking me through some years of challenge and change in transforming my personal life the Lord, in 1995, called me to full time ministry. I left Coca-Cola and as a family (Lorraine, Julie, Tracey & myself) headed for three exciting years (and two more daughters Catherine & Lisa) in Dunedin at Knox Theological Hall and Otago University. Since then I have completed training for full time ministry, a Batchelor of Divinity and a PhD in Theology.
In 1998 we were called to St. John's Presbyterian church in Mt. Roskill, a warm, small, family church with an ethincially mixed community of faithful Christian people.
As our children's Christian education was critical to us we spent time researching schools and were very impressed with Hebron's approach and ethos that we could see being lived out in practice. This started a long and increasingly deep relationship with the school. Before long Lorraine was invited onto the board (a role she takes very seriously). and later also joined the staff as a secretary and With the support of my eldership I have also been able to assist the school by chairing the Computer Committee for several years, going on a variety of camps and three overseas mission trips, and providing support to the school pastorally and in a variety of situations.
I have now been elected to the Board, a position endorsed by the eldership at St. John's, and I look forward to being able to serve in an appropriate manner.
MRS MONIQUE DOUGLAS (DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON)
I have been married to George since 1991 and we have two daughters, Johanna and Juliet. We live in Titirangi and when Johanna turned 4 we began a search for the best school for our children. After many months of research, discussion and on site visits we decided on Hebron and have been involved with the school since the year 2000.My professional career is in Accountancy and I completed my ACA qualification while working in a Chartered Accountants office in the CBD. Then I moved on to an Accountants role in two different manufacturing firms before leaving to raise our daughter in 1995. Now working from home, I run the administration side of our business around the demands of family, church and school life.
I was privileged to be brought up within a Christian family and became a Christian at a young age. My relationship with Christ has had its difficult times but over all it has been an amazing journey so far and I continue to seek to follow Him more closely. I have a passion for families, community and the encouragement that Christian fellowship brings whether at school, church or home. At church I am involved as a Sunbeam leader (similar to Brownies), Kindy church, Crafting demos/classes, Children's Christmas Play among other activities.
It has been a blessing to be involved in many different areas at Hebron over the years i.e. as a Netball Manager, Parent Representative, Camp Assistant, Community Committee Convenor to mention a few and now as a Board Member.
Over the last 10 years we have been blessed to experience the true difference that Christian education can make in a child's life - not only with our children, but also with many other families that we have come to know as well.
MR GARY SHUTTLEWORTH (TREASURER)
I'm a qualified accountant, working in the manufacturing sector and have been on the Hebron Board for two years more recently as well as prior to late 2005. I have three children, two of whom have attended, and one currently attending, Hebron. I had a miraculous healing from a life-threatening condition in 1988 through which God gave me a second chance in life. As a result, I have a desire for others to have a second chance and am actively involved in Prison Ministry. I have a heart for Christian education and want to see our youth reach their God-given potential and grow in their relationship with our Lord. It has been an honour and a pleasure to serve on the Hebron Board and to see how God has faithfully provided. I look forward to seeing further miracles happen in our school as His vision unfolds.

MR PETER TURNER
This amazing school community is one of those huge, ongoing, "PTL" blessings for Sharon (my understanding wife for the last 26 years) & I. Our six children - 3 of each, ranging from 7yrs to 24yrs - have all loved being educated and mentored at Hebron Christian College. Our two eldest finished their school years building strong foundations in education, service, faith, prayer and fellowship at Hebron - characteristics that have significantly blessed their lives (and ours) over the ensuing years. Our four youngest children have really enjoyed being part of this school right from their primary years. Whether it’s the sciences, camps, hard materials, sports, overseas mission, mathematics, public speaking or the languages - the quality of the teachers, the level of education and the teaching delivery are all extremely high. Most importantly, through these early formative years, the learning experience has been tailored to ensure that each individual knows that they are deeply loved & uniquely created and are given broad opportunities to enjoy learning and indeed excel, across all their God given talents. In essence, we sincerely appreciate the contribution that this school is having in impacting the next generation for good!
We've lived in Mt Albert and worshiped at the Mt Albert Baptist Church for five generations - in fact I was born just down the road from the school - so we're passionate Mt Albert people. The school's distinct historical home, Rahiri House, was even built by our Great Grandfather, James Arthur Penman. We're actively involved in the community across a range of NFP organisations - including environmental, pre-schooling, church and missions. I've been involved in the management of small & large businesses across a range of enterprises and currently with my brother Jeff, head up a Mt Wellington based wholesale produce & floral business.
We endeavour to serve this school community by using our God given experience, gifting and blessings. We recognise that by His Spirit, our loving Heavenly Father has used the significant sacrifice of many special people to grow this great Christ honouring School. For us, the key role of the Board, is to ensure that we are providing prayerful, sound governance for the schools management & teaching teams, so that they can continue to use their talents, the facilities and Bible based curriculum, to support parents develop awesome leaders, who personally "Know Him, Love Him & Serve Him".

MR GEOFF MATTHEWS
I grew up in Mt.Albert with my parents, older brother and twin sister and attended Gladstone Primary School and Pasadena Intermediate School before shifting to West Auckland where I attended Glen Eden Intermediate School and Kelston Boys High School. Upon leaving school, I began training as a Quantity Surveyor but due to a nation-wide building recession, decided to train as a teacher, entering North Shore Teachers College and studying history at Auckland University.I began my teaching career at Rangeview Intermediate School, Te Atatu South in 1970 and by 1979 had become a Senior Teacher specialising in Science, Special Needs children, Sport and Music. I then took up a Senior Teacher position at Halsey Drive Primary School, Lynfield before moving on to another senior position at Waikowhai Intermediate School (1981)and then Deputy Principal of Waikowhai Primary School, Mt.Roskill (1987).
A growing interest in Christian education prompted me to apply for the Associate Principal's position at Hebron Christian College in August 1991. After one term in the job, I took up the Principal's position when the Principal, Bev Norsworthy took leave to further her university studies and start the Christian Teachers College now known as Laidlaw College School of Education.
I have been instrumental in initiating and overseeing many changes at Hebron Christian College since 1992 including the enlargement of the secondary department, the beginning of bi-annual secondary student missions to Third World countries, the development of the special needs Learning Centre, the start of Middle and Secondary School annual camps, expansion of computers and technology, opening and development of the Year 13 programme and many building and property development projects.

Since 2005 I have founded and currently chair the New Life Foundation (NZ) Trust, raising support and finance for the New Life Foundation orphanage and school in Tanzania (See more).
MRS MARGUERITE MARSTERS
I was born in the Cook Islands and my parents emmigrated to NZ shortly after my birth. As with most Pacific Island people, God and church are an integral part of living and this has continued all my life. I have experienced the struggles of being raised by my mother but her faithfulness and commitment to God to this day has kept our family together. Praise God for steadfast and prayerful parents! My husband Les and I were introduced to Hebron 6 years ago when we enrolled our daughter Nina-Tai in the New Entrant class and from there on, we have had our 'other' daughters here for 2 years. At present we have Bianca at Hebron Christian College.
To have a school that values people as Jesus did and encourages Jesus in all aspects of children's lives has meant we and our children love the Hebron culture.
I currently am involved in my church ministry of reaching out to women and teenagers that work on the streets of Auckland and our prayers and vision are that these women come to know Christ through the love and care we have for them.
Being a newly-appointed board member, I bring the 'women's' touch to a board predominantly of good men and believe it is essential to have total balance when we are required to make decisions that impact on our children's futures.
It is a joy and privilege to serve our families and children and I look forward to the continued success and development of Hebron Christian College as a testimony and lampstand for Christian schooling and Christian living.
MRS JENNY HORST
I joined the board late 2011, to support the school's mission to provide top quality Christian education. Like my fellow board members, I'm passionate about building on Hebron's strong foundations to see each and every student reach their life potential. I run a Strategy and Communications firm, Communicode Consulting, mentoring organisations that want to enhance their organisation's function, effectiveness and influence. Prior to this I was Marketing Manager at Maxim Institute and National Development Manager at Focus on the Family.
I have been married to Andrew for 21 years and we have two gorgeous boys who are both in the Junior School at Hebron. They are flourishing and loving their Hebron experience, which has inspired my deeper commitment to the school. I became a Christian at a young age, and believe there's something extra special about a school that not only feeds the mind, but the spirit also. A great foundation for life.
