Year 8 (R11)

Room 11 (KFC)- Kids For Christ

ROOM 11 is a wonderful year that is jam packed with fun and learning. The children have the opportunity to attend sports camp and a school camp that is suited for their age group. As the children head into their teenage years they learn how to deal with the ongoing changes in their lives and how to reach their God given potential.

Our theme for term three is...

God is creative

This term we will be exploring the amazing truth that our God is incredibly Creative. It is exciting and rewarding to discover more about God as we study the world.God is the original artist

God is 'the only artist who is perfect in all forms of creativity - in technique, in originality, in knowledge of the past and the future, in versatility, in having perfect content to express as well as perfect expression of truth, in communicating perfectly the wonders of all that exists as well as something about himself, is of course God-the God who is personal.' (Edith Schaeffer)

God delighted in creating the world, and was pleased with the results. God also delights in us and our worship.

Experience the zoo! Room 11 Style!

"The zoo trip was so much fun as we got to see so many animals up close! We went to the interact learning centre where the tutors taught us loads of inspiring information on endangered species. It was so sad to hear about the rainforest and what is happening to the animals. My favorite animal at the zoo was the tiger because it stood so strong and I loved the way it walked around like it owned the zoo"
Melissa Jacob. Aged 13

Can you spot Annalise petting the Black Bearded Dragon? What a way to spend your 13th Birthday Annalise!!!

Maori carving in Room 11.

Room 11 Have been studying the Maori culture and one element of this culture is carving. It was important for us to practice first on soap and then use a hard material for the finished project.
Room 11 chose Omaru stone which can be easily chiselled however will become very hard over time. Robyn Mackwell from Tairua came to Room 11 to teach us the old ways of Maori carving.
