Room 9 in Summertime!
What is Room 9 known for?
Room 9 is a class of 25 Year 5 children, 10 girls and 15 boys. There are 7 nationalities including European, Korean, Chinese, Malaysian, Sri Lankan, Tongan, and Indonesian. The children have a wide range of sporting artistic and cultural interests. Year 5 is an exciting year for these children as they tackle new skills for the first time.
Every day we go for runs around the school.
We increase our running speed and distance as the year progresses.
We are working hard to build our endurance for the School Cross-country.
Every week we learn new Bible verses.
When we showcase our Bible knowledge at School assemblies, we improve our skills in learning, speaking and presenting in front of a wider audience.
We learn a poem to study English grammar - "Word Classes" .
WORD CLASSES
| Every name is called a NOUN, As field and fountain, street and town; In place of noun the PRONOUN stands, As he and she can clap their hands; The ADJECTIVE describes a noun, As magic wand and circus clown; The VERB means action, something done - To read and write, to jump and run; How things are done, the ADVERBS tell, As quickly, slowly, badly, well; The PREPOSITION shows relation, As in the street, or at the station; CONJUNCTIONS join, in many ways, Sentences, words, or phrase and phrase; The INTERJECTION cries out, "Hark!" It needs an exclamation mark. Through Poetry, we learn how each of these make up THE PARTS OF SPEECH. |
