In 1996, the next group of Year 11 and 12 students were trained up and prepared for a mission to Manila and Malaysia. Eleven students, two staff (Mr. & Mrs. Scott), the School Principal, Mr Matthews and a mother, Mrs Hutchison, left Auckland on 3rd April for a four day mission in Kuala Lumpur. The students worked with disabled children and performed in Christian churches in the Kang Valley district. The team then flew on to the Philippines and stayed for twelve days. The team worked in two orphanages, a homeless boys' programme, visited the school's two sponsored children at the Smokey Mountain housing complex and worked with churches linked to the New Hope Christian Ministries.
Again, this mission was most successful and the performances in Kuala Lumpur helped to spread the gospel in this largely Muslim country.
