“By far and away the best school I attended...” bullet2

Secondary

Hebron Christian College has a very successful and fully functioning secH SENIOR STUDENTS BY HOUSEondary programme with classes ranging from Year 9 to Year 13. The secondary department is well staffed by highly qualified and registered secondary school teachers and where there are deficiencies in facilities often found in larger schools, the staff make good use of off-site services and programmes.

The school is committed to the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) and participating students regularly achieve well above the national average.

Although small in size in comparison to local state secondary schools, the secondary department "punches well above its weight" producing graduates that are well-rounded, academically, socially and spiritually.

School leaver with NCEA Level 3 or above Compared with National results for 2012 to 2016

Hebron does not vet students coming to the school on academic ability, nor do we stop students from entering a course fearing they might not achieve and hence skew our results. At times this does effect the pass rate especially at Year 13 but in spite of this Hebron students do extremely well against National standards.
